About the Members Club
Discover the Members’ Club at Clays Golf, offering competitions, social events, and a welcoming community for all members.
The Members’ Club is run by a Council that meets once a month. Along with a number of committees, they take care of the day-to-day running of the Members’ Club and help make sure everything runs smoothly for our members, such as competitions, handicapping and social events.
The Council includes the Club Captain, Lady Captain, Vice Captain, President, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, Seniors Captain, Handicap Secretary, Competition Secretary, Juniors Organiser, and a representative from the Clays Management Team. This group helps make decisions that reflect the needs and interests of all areas of the club.
Club Sections
Where community meets competition, Clays Golf offers membership with Men’s, Ladies’, and Seniors’ sections, each hosting regular competitions. The calendar blends competitive and social events for all abilities, from qualifying rounds to honours board knockouts—giving members flexibility, camaraderie, and the chance to secure a lasting place in club history.
Handicap Application
Track progress, compete, and connect with others through your official WHS handicap. All Clays Golf members can apply, whether it’s your first or a renewal. A small annual fee covers the Members’ Club levy and affiliation with Wales Golf and Denbighshire Golfing Union, supporting the game locally and nationally.
Club Competitions
Clays Golf runs year-round competitions for all abilities. April to September features Club and Honours Board Knockouts, while October to March offers relaxed winter events. Formats include Strokeplay, Stableford, Pairs, Mixed, and Team games. Whether chasing honours or enjoying social play, schedules are available via the Intelligent Golf app.
Social Events
Clays Golf hosts year-round social events, uniting members through fun, food, and friendship. Updates appear on notice boards, newsletters, our website, and Facebook. Popular gatherings include Themed Food Nights, Quizzes, Cheese & Wine, Race Night, the Christmas Party, and Captains’ Dinner—many welcoming family and friends to join the experience.
Meetings & AGM
Clays Golf values transparency, with monthly Club Council meetings and an AGM held before March’s end. The AGM elects Officers and Council, presents accounts, shares reports, and marks the Captain’s handover. Notice is posted four weeks prior, with the agenda available two weeks before for all members.
